About My Gorilla

This year’s re-branding was brought about by the catalyst of Craig Ferguson leaving the Late Late Show. As the goal of this site was my journey to become published and appear as a guest promoting my book, that endgame is no longer viable. Though much of the motivation is the same, and a number of those are related to that particular comedian’s work, I wanted to maintain some of that.

A while back, while on The Talk (during the Superbowl Week show in New Orleans), they asked him about writing another novel. For those not aware of it, Craig Ferguson has written both an autobiography and a novel. (Not bad for someone who dropped out of high school.) His response was…

Writing a novel is like making love to a gorilla. You’re not done until the gorilla’s done.

In that respect, I’m not done. And my gorilla is getting a little irate. But really, who wouldn’t appreciate characterizing your novel as a gorilla? Because… monkey.

This blog will continue to follow me on my journey to complete the goals of:

  • Publish a number of these manuscripts I’ve been working on.
  • The craft of writing.
  • My life and how I handle the trials of life as a part-time writer.
  • Anything that sparks off in my head.
  • Cross-posting of my reviews over on Wicked Lil Pixie.

Feel free to comment or join in on the journey. The writing life is an introverted one, and we can always use the company. Well… sometimes… just grab a coffee and shut up.

  1. Hey Zombie Joe. How’s it going?

    I’m a writer/reporter for a zombie website called: http://www.zombiewatchnetwork.com

I like your blog here, alot of good stuff. I especially like the D&D zombie game you’re in. I play D&D too (both DM and play) & I have a tendency to throw in zombies often enough. I’m not a big fan of 4th ed & my friends and I are still playing 3.5 ed. I’m kinda curious about your game. How did it come about? Is it a homebrew game/world?

Are you a published writer yet? Or are you still working on it?

Let me know if you ever want to collaborate on anything. I also would like to maybe post something about your blog on our website.

    Thanks,
    -MJS “Dangermouse”
